🔍Compare with other platforms
A person wearing a guapi mao (瓜皮帽), a type of Chinese hat. Sometimes referred to as a skullcap. When this emoji was first made available, the majority of vendors rendered it as a man with a thin, stylized moustache. In more recent years, several platforms have updated their designs to appear more gender-neutral. However, this emoji does not have any gender-specific variants or alternatives in the emoji keyboard. This emoji predates the inclusion of emojis within Unicode. It was first added to early Japanese emoji keyboards by Softbank in 2000.
